Overview:
Join English Mountain Leader, Pip Line, for a great walking weekend in the French Alps this August. The weekend culminates in competing in an off-road race, called The Belier, around the beautiful ski resort of La Clusaz.
The Belier, meaning The Ram, is a 27km course, climbing over 1000m, around the 5 peaks of La Clusaz. Participants can either run or walk the course. However for those looking for the less extreme, you can do the half course, called L’Agneau (The Lamb).
The race has been running for over 20 years and now attracts participants from all over the world in a great festival of walking. We think the best bit about the day is the various watering-stations around the course, which in keeping with local traditions, offer energy-replacement food and drink, as well as local hams, cheeses and wine!
Join Pip on this great walking weekend, taking in the scenery of the area with some fabulous walks / runs before heading out to complete the race.
The cost is £350 sharing and £400 for a single room for 3 nights, including half board (continental breakfast and 3-course evening meal with local wines), chlaet-style accommodation, transfers and local transport and guided walking.
The costs to you are flights, race entry, holiday insurance, lunches, massages, drinks and souvenirs.
